Why a Collegiate “Challenge” Tournament for High School Bowlers?
High‐tech equipment and forgiving lane conditions tend to conceal weaknesses in the games of even the top young bowlers. Competing on the lane patterns used in the highest level of competition can help you find and eliminate weaknesses in your game. Competitive lane conditions emphasize the utmost in shot and decision making, equipment selection, and spare shooting. It requires bowlers to repeat good shots, make adjustments, and assists in the development of accuracy in the successful attainment of high scores.
High school bowling is a competitive, no handicap, athletic venue. Experiences gained on a collegiate lane pattern force bowlers to work harder on their game to improve basic skills. Having the experience of bowling on a challenging lane pattern better prepares young bowlers to face the multitude of lane conditions found on the road to the state championship.
Well coached young bowlers who have such experiences and learn to master challenging lane conditions can “rule the world” in competitions on house patterns often found in high school conference play.
